The Tax Office has recently announced that it will allow immediate deductions (on revenue account) for any items of plant and equipment purchased by a business or taxpayer where the cost of the item is less than $100.
The replaces the previous position (under the Uniform Capital Allowances regime) whereby everything which wasn't consumed within the year had to be capitalised and depreciated over the useful life of the item.
